Frequently Asked Questions
A guide to appointments, jewelry, healing, and the Dom Von Studio experience.
Dom Von Studio is a private, appointment based body piercing and fine jewelry studio in Los Angeles. This page offers guidance on booking, pricing, jewelry, preparation, healing, and private requests so each visit can feel considered, calm, and well informed.
APPOINTMENTS & BOOKING
-
Appointments are reserved through the booking page. Please choose the service that best reflects what you would like to explore. If you are unsure, select the most relevant option and include a short note when booking.
-
Dom Von Studio operates by appointment only. This allows each client to receive focused time, proper preparation, and a more intentional experience.
-
If you are open to guidance, book a piercing session or composition focused appointment. Placements and jewelry can be refined during the visit based on your anatomy, existing jewelry, healing history, and aesthetic direction.
-
Yes. Multiple placements can often be completed in one session when the anatomy, healing capacity, and jewelry direction support it. For more involved styling, an ear composition or composition enhancement appointment may be the better fit.
-
Yes. Inspiration photos are welcome, but they are used as a reference point, not a fixed blueprint. Every placement is guided by anatomy, proportion, jewelry scale, and what will heal beautifully on your body.
PRICING & PAYMENTS
-
Pricing depends on the service, number of placements, jewelry selected, and complexity of the appointment. Jewelry is priced separately unless otherwise noted. The booking page provides the most current service structure and starting points.
-
Jewelry is typically selected and purchased separately from the piercing service unless a service description states otherwise. Final pricing is determined by the jewelry chosen during the appointment.
-
Some appointments require a deposit to reserve time, prepare materials, or begin custom sourcing. Deposits are applied according to the terms listed on the booking page.
-
Payment options are provided during booking or checkout. For private appointments, editorial work, or larger jewelry projects, payment details may be confirmed directly before the appointment.
Jewelry & Styling
-
Dom Von Studio works with high quality body jewelry and fine jewelry selected for safety, proportion, material integrity, and visual refinement. Jewelry options may include solid 14k or 18k gold, implant grade titanium, diamonds, colored stones, crystals, pearls, and other suitable materials depending on the placement. The studio carries respected makers including BVLA, Tawapa, Quetzalli, Body Gems, Auris, Divinity, Neo-Metal, Leroi, and a private label collection.
-
Outside jewelry may be considered, but it must be assessed for material quality, sizing, threading, polish, and suitability for the placement. Not all outside jewelry can be used safely for fresh piercings.
-
Yes. Jewelry selection is part of the experience. Pieces are chosen with attention to anatomy, proportion, placement, lifestyle, and the overall composition of the body.
-
Yes. Custom sourcing may be available for clients seeking a specific piece, material, stone, scale, placement, or overall jewelry direction. Because sourcing requires vendor communication, design judgment, and curation, a sourcing deposit may be required before options are gathered.
-
Yes. Jewelry styling and change appointments are available for clients who want to refresh existing piercings, improve balance, change scale, or rebuild the visual direction of an ear or placement.
Piercing & Placement
-
Common services may include ear piercings, nose piercings, lip piercings, navel, nipple, genital piercings, tooth gems, permanent chain welding, and jewelry styling. Availability may vary depending on anatomy, healing considerations, and service type.
-
Minor appointments depend on the service, age, legal guardian presence, and identification requirements. Please review the booking details before scheduling, as documentation and guardian presence are required.
-
Yes. Infant ear piercing is available for babies at least 3 months old. A parent or legal guardian must be present with valid photo ID and the baby’s birth certificate or appropriate documentation. The appointment is handled with patience, care, cleanliness, and a calm pace so the experience can feel as smooth as possible for both baby and parent.
-
Fresh piercings are generally not recommended during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, nursing, healing from a major medical event, or managing a health condition, it is best to wait or consult a qualified medical professional before booking.
-
In many cases, yes. A healing assessment or jewelry styling appointment can help determine whether a placement can be improved, changed, retired, downsized, or reworked.
-
Every piercing is performed with a double-sterilized, hollow, single-use needle. All jewelry is sterilized in-house immediately before your appointment. Fresh piercings are fitted with nickel-free, high-polish, implant-grade titanium or silod 14k gold.
Healing & Aftercare
-
Aftercare guidance will be provided after your appointment. In general, healing piercings should be kept clean, left undisturbed, and protected from unnecessary pressure, friction, and product buildup.
-
Aftercare guidance is available on the Aftercare & Healing page. You may also receive direct instructions after your appointment.
-
Irritation does not always mean infection. Pressure, sleeping on the piercing, delayed downsizing, cosmetics, hair products, or touching can all create irritation. Review the Aftercare & Healing page and book a healing assessment if you need direct support.
-
Downsizing timelines vary by placement and healing response. Some piercings need a shorter post after swelling decreases to support comfort, stability, and long term healing. If you are unsure, book a healing assessment or jewelry change appointment.
-
For healed piercings, some jewelry may be changed at home. For healing piercings, fresh piercings, difficult placements, or fine jewelry, professional assistance is recommended to avoid irritation, trauma, or jewelry loss.
Private Appointments & Special Requests
-
Yes. Private appointments may be available for clients requesting a more discreet, extended, or specialized experience.
-
Private travel appointments may be considered depending on location, service, schedule, and preparation required. Travel fees are separate from service and jewelry fees.
-
Yes. Editorial, private client, and special event requests may be submitted through the contact page or private request inquiry path.
-
For private appointments, editorial work, special requests, or larger jewelry projects, please use the contact page and include the nature of the request, preferred timing, location if relevant, and any visual direction.
Policies
-
Cancellation and rescheduling terms are listed on the booking page. Please review them before reserving your appointment.
-
Late arrivals may reduce appointment time or require rescheduling. The studio experience is designed around focused time, proper setup, and a calm pace.
-
For most appointments, arriving alone is preferred unless you are accompanying a minor or have received approval to bring a guest. This helps maintain a calm and focused environment.
-
Arrive well rested, hydrated, and nourished. Avoid alcohol before your appointment. Bring valid government issued identification and any required documents if the appointment involves a minor.
